Tua Tagovailoa Pursues Miami Dolphins For Contract Extension

Getting set to command attention are the Miami Dolphins. If the Miami team is a contender in 2023, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa won’t hesitate to say so when asked.

Tagovailoa stated the following in an interview with Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.

“I think we’re definitely legit contenders. There’s no doubt with the guys we have on the defensive side of the ball. With the guys we have on the offensive side of the ball. And now with this being the first time as an offense, we get to come back understanding the plays already kind of molded into the offense a little more, I think. I think it can get very, very scary, pretty dangerous.”

Realistically speaking, what else was he meant to say? “We’re going to stink”? That wouldn’t engender assurance. However, Tua Tagovailoa has a point that goes beyond the expected optimism. Genuine contenders, the Dolphins.

Vic Fangio’s hiring as coordinator and adding Jalen Ramsey to a roster filled with excellent players have enhanced their defense. They have a potent offense. Naturally, a lot depends on Tua’s health and the health of other important players.

It will be a challenging task. All of the AFC East teams have a demanding schedule. In addition to playing each other twice, they must compete against groups from the fiercely rugged AFC West and the powerful NFC East. The clubs that finish second in the division may find qualifying for the wild-card round challenging.

The Dolphins are, therefore, unquestionably legitimate playoff candidates. They may even be capable of winning the Super Bowl if they go to the playoffs. As the phrase goes, though, “The playoffs are a whole different ballgame.”

Despite their potential, the Dolphins still risk missing the playoffs entirely. Although they have a difficult road ahead, they are prepared to take it on and give it their best.
