Warriors Coach: What Caused 46-Year-Old Dejan Milojevic’s Death?
The Warriors coach was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday.
Dejan Milojevic, a well-liked person and assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, died at the age of 46 in Salt Lake City after a heart attack. The basketball community is in grief.
The head coach of the Warriors, Steve Kerr, issued a statement expressing deep sadness. Dejan’s unexpected death has left us completely grieved.

The two children of Milojevic and his wife, Natasa, are Nikola and Masa. Milojevic was a 6-foot-7 power forward who played basketball for Serbia previously.
Kerr was also considered the personality of Milojevic.
“Not only was Dejan an amazing basketball coach, but he was also one of the most kind and optimistic people I have ever met. His enthusiasm and drive made every day brighter. Along with his family, we are in deep sorrow. It is incomprehensible how they died.”
When did the catastrophe happen?
The unfortunate event happened on Tuesday, when NBA players and coaches regularly patronized Valter’s Osteria, a well-known Italian restaurant, when Milojevic suddenly developed a serious health problem.
The NBA later announced that the Warriors’ scheduled game against the Jazz in Salt Lake City would be postponed. Warriors’ coaches were by Milojevic’s side at the hospital. There’s no word on when the makeup will take place.
Throughout his remarkable basketball career, Milojevic played as a star for the Serbian national team from 1994 to 2009, winning three straight Adriatic League Most Valuable Player Awards in 2004–2006. Before turning to coaching, he played professionally for Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, and Spain.
Milojevic led the Mega Basket of the Adriatic Basketball Association before becoming an assistant coach with the Warriors. During his tenure as coach at Mega Basket, he was perhaps most influential in the growth of NBA player Nikola Jokic.
Before becoming an assistant on Kerr’s staff in 2021, Milojevic coached in Montenegro and continued to make a major impact on the basketball world.
With an NBA championship at the end of the 2021–22 season, Milojevic had already established a lasting impact in the basketball community during his third season with the Warriors.
