The Golden State Warriors‘ Draymond Green has reportedly decided against exercising his $27.5 million player option for the 2023–2024 season and will instead become an unrestricted free agent, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Rich Paul, Draymond Green’s agent, said via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, “We will continue to talk to Golden State and explore all options.”
A sign-and-trade, free agency, or the forward’s longstanding team are all alternatives that Warriors’ Draymond Green can consider.
The Warriors have been the subject of the 33-year-old’s 11-season career. Wojnarowski and a report from ESPN’s Marc Spears on NBA Today state that his longstanding team is trying to retain him on the roster, even though this move suggests that might change.
