Weather Concerns Threaten Chiefs vs. Bills Game
At Highmark Stadium on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will play the Kansas City Chiefs
The Buffalo Bills‘ postseason still relies heavily on Mother Nature. Heavy snowstorms caused the Super Wild Card Weekend victory against the Steelers to be postponed, and now another weather-related issue could jeopardize Sunday’s AFC divisional playoff matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Before Buffalo Bills’ Chiefs game, there will be more snow
Up to Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, Buffalo—which is renowned for its severe winter weather—is under a lake-effect snow warning. The team’s ability to get to the facility for practices and meetings during the week has been questioned in light of the weather prediction.
With predictions indicating the possibility of one to three feet of snow, the alert also includes Orchard Park, the location of the Bills’ Highmark Stadium.
The Bills’ players and coaches will have a difficult week ahead of them if there is more storming, which could raise the total to above four feet. Coming into his first real road playoff game in Buffalo, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is used to playing in the cozy confines of Arrowhead Stadium or neutral venues for the Super Bowl.
After overcoming the Miami Dolphins at home in subfreezing temperatures, the reigning Super Bowl winners are getting ready to face the Bills in the bitter cold once more.
Plans exist for bills to deal with weather-related issues
Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, is confident in the team’s ability to overcome the weather obstacles and is still upbeat.
“We’re trying to keep on top of things from a scheduling perspective and have a strategy in place to ensure that we’re getting the personnel and players in at the appropriate times.”

The team agreed that, despite the uncertain weather, good communication was essential to ensuring preparedness. The Bills are dealing with serious injuries in addition to enduring the cold outside.
Key players missed the wild-card round; the team is currently assessing the severity of their injuries. McDermott highlighted the club’s resiliency, saying,
“Our team has fought all season long, despite the wounds and the upcoming weather challenges. We won’t give up on our struggle just yet.”
