Wembanyama Claims To Face LeBron James’ Dream Team In Olympics
Although it had not been officially announced, many people thought Victor Wembanyama would attend the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
The teenage superstar has said he would be in France next summer despite skipping the FIBA World Cup to concentrate on getting ready for his debut NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs.
When introducing the Canal+ documentary “Un1que,” which would detail his final season with Metropolitans 92, he commented, “Winning the Olympics would be great, of course I’ll be there.”
LeBron James is at risk from Wembanyama
The Dream Team that LeBron James wants to assemble for Team USA might face a severe threat in France due to this announcement.
They aim to assemble a fantastic squad after the Americans’ disappointment in the World Cup when they placed fourth and were unable to make the podium.
Wembanyama will compete against players like Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Stephen Curry to name a few.
Wembanyama was questioned about France’s poor performance and early elimination from the FIBA World Cup. He said,
“I saw it and it was very disappointing, but I’m not worried. I have no judgement to make. I wasn’t in the team and it’s in the hands of top players. I feel it doesn’t change anything about doing something big in Paris next year.”
