Western Conference Finals: Dončić Scores 32 as Mavericks Take 2-0 Lead Over Timberwolves
Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals was another thriller, and heartbreak for Minnesota Timberwolves as Dallas Mavericks took a 2-0 lead with a close 109-108 win on Friday.
Luka Dončić was the star of the show for the Mavericks with 32 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds and a game-winner. Game 3 is set to be played at 8 pm (Eastern Times) on Sunday in Dallas.
Mavericks were down two points with four seconds remaining. But Dončić denied them their first victory in the conference finals series with a stepback 3-pointer over Rudy Gobert – the Defensive Player of the Year.
The Wolves had a chance to reciprocate and their best shooter of the night Naz Reid even got the ball in hand. However, his desperate attempt was clanked out.
Enjoying a lead until early in the fourth quarter, it was Minnesota’s game to lose. The fourth quarter saw a dogfight between the two sides with 11 lead swings.
It was a disappointing defeat for Timberwolves who, for most of the game, would have thought they had a series-tying win with a five-point lead in less than five minutes of the game before Dončić made it a hurt for them.
They would eye for a win in Game 3, which is scheduled for 8 pm (Eastern Times) on Sunday in Dallas.
