Wyndham Clark And Paige Spiranac Played Junior Golf Together
Spiranac “knew he’d make it” and believed Clark to be “something special.”
Wyndham Clark and Paige Spiranac played junior golf together growing up. Spiranac congratulated him on winning the 2023 US Open through her Twitter account on Sunday.
According to Spiranac, 30, the buddies always felt Clark was “something special” and “knew he’d make it,” emphasizing how awesome he finally won his first big event.
A user made fun of Spiranac by posting a meme that said she was making the situation about herself. The influential golfer responded with a dignified remark.
“Wyndham Clark and I grew up playing junior golf together in Colorado,” Spiranac tweeted. “Everyone would always say he had something special and we all knew he’d make it. Now he’s a major winner! Very cool moment.”
“I was adding a personal note to show how cool it is to watch someone be successful at every step of their career and how he was always a stand out player even back at age 13.”

Amazing victory for Wyndham Clark
The 29-year-old Clark now has a major to go with the PGA Tour victory he earned at the Wells Fargo Championship last month.
After 54 holes, Rickie Fowler had a clear lead, but he went five over par in the final round of golf to finish fifth and open the door for Clark’s comeback.
On Sunday, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler also finished on par, but due to their shoddy putting, Spiranac’s boyhood buddy took the victory with a one-stroke advantage.
“I felt like my mom was watching over me today.”
“Miss you mom. And I worked so hard and so many times I visualized winning this championship and it felt like my time. US Opens are tough. It’s tough on a back nine. I kept saying I can do this, I can do this. I ground it on the way in.”
