Zack Martin of Cowboys, Agrees to Renewed Deal for $18 Mln Plus for Next 2 Years
Reportedly, the Cowboys and Zack Martin have settled on a new two-year contract that will pay Martin over $18 million per year.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, All-Pro guard Zack Martin and the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a renegotiated contract.
According to reports, the new contract guarantees him about $18 million in annual salary for the following two years.
More than $8.5 million in additional compensation was included in the new contract for the team captain, who was due to receive $13.5 million this year and $14 million next year.
This comes after he allegedly skipped the start of training camp last month due to a disagreement over his contract.

American football guard Zachary Edward Martin (born November 20, 1990) currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL.
After starring for the Fighting Irish in college football, the Cowboys selected him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Martin, one of the best offensive linemen of all time, was named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team after being selected to eight Pro Bowls and eight All-Pro teams.
According to their former principal, Dr. Martin Erlenbaugh, both Zack and his brother Nick attended Saint Matthew Catholic School in Indianapolis, Indiana from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The Martins’ sporting success in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis began with the Catholic Youth Organisation (CYO).
Zack and Nick both decided to attend Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, Indiana for their first year of high school. Zack was named to the first team all-state as a senior after recording 114 pancake blocks the previous season.
As a sophomore, his high school team won the Indiana Class 3A state championship and went 12-3. As a junior, his team went 14-1 and won their second straight Indiana Class 3A state championship.
As a sophomore in 2006, he started at both tackle positions (defensive and offensive) and recorded 73 tackles and five tackles for loss on defence. During his junior and sophomore years at Bishop Chatard, he was also a basketball standout.
The fans of the team he was playing against dubbed him “The Butcher” because to his brutal playing style.
The Under Armour All-America Game was held in Orlando, Florida in 2009, and he was chosen to participate. He was a shot putter and discus thrower on the track and field circuit. The legendary Andrew Slome was his coach.
According to Rivals.com, he was the 22nd best offensive lineman in the country and a four-star recruit.He was offered scholarships to play football at Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan, but he chose Notre Dame instead.
