Harden Was Awful, in Stephen A. Smith’s Opinion, & Should Conceal Identity
James Harden had a difficult time contributing in Sunday’s NBA Playoffs Game 7 loss of the Philadelphia 76ers to the Boston Celtics, scoring only nine points. He failed to score at least ten points for the second time in the postseason.
The outspoken commentator Stephen A. Smith wasn’t shy about calling out Philadelphia’s top guard. Smith had harsh words for Harden after the Sixers were eliminated from the playoffs, advising the 33-year-old to consider removing his beard to hide his identity in light of his poor performance.
Smith was direct and serious in his remarks, stressing the significance of Harden’s poor performance. Smith, who had spent a good deal of his career in Philadelphia, thought that the city’s citizens would be unhappy with such a performance, making it impossible for Harden to move through the streets.
“James Harden was so awful, so bad, he should shave his beard so he can hide his identity.” “That’s how bad he was. It was really, really bad. I say that in all seriousness. I’m not joking. I worked in Philadelphia for 17 years. It would be difficult for him to walk the streets. You don’t do what you saw him do on Sunday afternoon in a Game 7.”
Smith stated this during Sports Center on Sunday night.
In the game, Harden’s -30 plus-minus rating represented his statistical contribution. He had the fewest points among the Sixers’ starters, scoring only 3-of-11 from the field and 1-for-5 from beyond the arc.
Harden received a lot of criticism during Philadelphia‘s poor season finale, with Smith’s ferocious tirade sticking out as one of the loudest denunciations of his performance.
