After companies like Miller and Coors reduced or discontinued their sponsorships of NASCAR over the previous 20 years, Anheuser-Busch is the final major brewer to have significant involvement in the sport.
Since Harvick was a driver for Richard Childress Racing in 2011, Anheuser-Busch products have been linked to him. When Harvick switched to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, the company’s Budweiser brand came over to sponsor him throughout that year. That year, Harvick captured his first Cup Series victory.
The business said in 2016 that Busch and Busch Light would replace Budweiser as the car’s sponsors for Harvick.
Before the 2023 campaign, Harvick announced it would be his final at the highest level of NASCAR before switching to Fox’s broadcast booth in 2024. The expiration of Harvick’s contract coincided with AB’s deal with SHR, and talks with Track house to sponsor Chastain and the No. 1 car during the first half of the 2023 season were well known.
Since joining the team now known as Track house before the 2021 season, Chastain has become one of NASCAR‘s most promising drivers. Chastain had three victories in the previous two seasons, and one of the craziest NASCAR races in recent memory included him riding the wall at Martinsville one season ago.
In the 2022 Cup Series championship race, Chastain qualified for NASCAR’s final four by winning the Martinsville race. He finished second to Joey Logano in Phoenix, placing second in the point rankings.
Through 19 races this season, Chastain has finished fifth. In Nashville in June, he earned his first-season victory. In addition to the Martinsville maneuver, he has developed a reputation for driving aggressively, which is unpopular on the track.
Chase Elliott‘s hopes of winning the title were ruined at Phoenix when he spun off Chastain’s bumper after a restart. Chastain had multiple collisions with Denny Hamlin throughout the 2022 season.
