Mike Woodson will get an additional $1 million per year for his six-year contract, bringing his total compensation to a little over $3 million. The Big Ten men’s basketball coaches Tom Izzo (Michigan State) and Brad Underwood (Illinois) are paid more than Woodson, who will now get $4.2 million yearly, according to a news release announcing his rise.

In his first two collegiate seasons, Woodson had a 44-26 record and a 2-2 in NCAA tournament action. The Hoosiers have a winning record in Big Ten play for the first time since 2016, with a 21-19 record in conference games over that time frame. They were 12-8 in the league last season.
Furthermore, Jalen Hood-Schifino (Los Angeles Lakers) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (Golden State Warriors) were both selected in this year’s NBA draft, marking the first time since 2017 that three Indiana players were selected in the same year.
With a slew of official visits scheduled for the following weeks, IU is presently aiming to leverage the recruiting momentum of that accomplishment into one of the top 2024 classes in the nation.
