Luis Rubiales has been temporarily suspended from all national and international football-related activities by FIFA Disciplinary Committee Chairman Jorge Ivan Palacio (Colombia) under the authority provided to him by Article 51 of the FDC.
As of today, August 26, this suspension will be in place for a 90-day trial period while this Disciplinary Committee investigates Mr. Rubiales for the disciplinary action it commenced on August 24.
Additionally, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee chairman has issued two additional directives (Article 7 FDC) ordering Rubiales to refrain from contacting or attempting to contact Jennifer Hermoso or her close associates. This is done, among other things, to protect Hermoso’s fundamental rights as a member of the national football team and the order of the disciplinary proceedings before this disciplinary body.
Additionally, it directs the RFEF to stop contacting the player or her close friends directly or through intermediaries.
For proper compliance, Luis Rubiales, the RFEF, and UEFA have been informed of the decision made by the head of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
Until a final judgment has been made, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee will not divulge any further information on this disciplinary process.
FIFA reiterates its steadfast commitment to upholding the dignity of every individual and vehemently denounces any actions that violate this principle.
