Shohei Ohtani; MLB Teams Bid Up To $600 Million For Free Agent
With Ohtani, Aaron Judge’s record of $360 million in free agency contracts would be broken.
MLB unrestricted signing According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, as the bidding to acquire Shohei Ohtani services heats up, he might become the first player in league history to earn $600 million. According to reports, he has already apparently had many bids from teams that are much more than $500 million.
With his $360 million deal, Shohei Ohtani, 29, would surpass the record established by Aaron Judge, the top player for the New York Yankees. The Japanese player is a pitcher, an outfielder, and a designated hitter, which accounts for the huge disparity.
It’s possible that Ohtani may accept a little less money to stay with the Los Angeles Angels or to join whichever team best fits his needs because the money would be enormous for him regardless of what he decides to do.
Since Ohtani has been connected to the Los Angeles Dodgers for a while, it should be common knowledge that he is not interested in playing on the East Coast.
Ohtani would immediately turn the Dodgers into a World Series favorite, and they are a team that is always competitive in the postseason.
