Mark Zuckerberg “Jinxed” Volkanovski On Losing Battle With Ilia Topuria

As the undisputed featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria surprised the world at UFC 298 by defeating Alexander Volkanovski in the second round. However, the Australian mixed martial artist’s defeat was brought on by an unfortunate jinx from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
The 39-year-old billionaire supported Volkanovski by donning a tracksuit with his name. He was there at the event, which took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, which is only 26 miles from the brilliant lights of Los Angeles.
Although Topuria stopped him with a right hook in the second round—much later than he had actually anticipated—the fight did not conclude as Team Volkanovski had hoped. He has now fulfilled his aspirations and became the nation’s first champion.
The fight would have been ruled a domination if it had continued for much longer. In his first title defense, Topuria, now 15-0, dominated the opening frame and threw a lot of sharp, fast blows. Elon Musk was also present. In 2023, he proposed that the two get together to spar over Twitter versus Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, WhatsApp), their rival social media networks.
But the fight hasn’t happened, even though the response from fans online has been overwhelmingly positive. Does Musk, however, still have a growing interest in the field of mixed martial arts after seeing it live?
