After Wrexham’s Success, Ryan Reynolds Preparing Bid to Buy Surprise Club

Ryan Reynolds is eager to buy a hockey team after investing in Wrexham to aid the team in earning League Two promotion.

A few years ago, Reynolds and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney finished taking control of the club. Their squad was promoted to the Football League earlier this month, ending a 15-year hiatus.

“I’m not sure I can actually process what happened tonight, I’m still a little speechless.” “One thing that’s running through my head over and over again was at the beginning, people said ‘Why Wrexham, why Wrexham’; this is exactly why Wrexham, what’s happening right now, is why.”

According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, a group led by Reynolds has been putting together a proposal for the NHL‘s Ottawa Senators worth more than $1 billion.

To unseat the Melnyk family, the well-known actor partnered with the Remington Group, a real estate development firm in Ontario.

After Eugene Melnyk passed away in March 2022, Ottawa was put up for sale. The franchise has been held by his family since 2003.

According to rumors, the final offers must be submitted by May 15 to be considered. Reynolds’ investment group will break the NHL selling record if the team accepts their proposal, which is the highest ever.

The price of the Pittsburgh Penguins being acquired for $900 million in 2021 set the previous record.
