Angel Reese: Fans Enraged By Handling At Her Debut News Conference
The rookie for the Chicago Sky did not have to interact with many media people.
Among the most gifted prospects in the WNBA is Angel Reese. Many people think the former college standout, who was selected by the Chicago Sky, may quickly elevate the squad to new heights.
Despite everyone’s expectations that she would receive the respect she deserved, the seventh overall pick was not at all happy about her trip to the windy city.
When the young women’s basketball star gave her debut news conference last week at the team facilities, hardly no one was there—not even fans or reporters—and she entered an almost empty gym.
Critiquing all parties involved, people began to express their dismay at the state of affairs. They did not like the team’s lack of excitement and the complete absence of support from the fan base.
Then, the supporters criticized the media, claiming that more reporters ought to have been there given the significance of the signing for the team and the enormous potential of the young Angel Reese.
Angel Reese, likening to Caitlin Clark?
Once remarks regarding Caitlin Clark‘s welcome with the Indiana Fever began to surface on social media, things soon got out of control.
A throng of fans was waiting to cheer her on, wearing the team’s color around the team gym where the presentation was held, after the team brought out the red carpet to greet her.
Everything about the first overall pick’s news conference appeared more like a celebration, and she was even chauffeured by a Mercedes Sprinter van.
Angel Reese will soon find success in the league and with the Chicago Sky, but both she and the supporters will never forget how graciously they were welcomed into the professional ranks of basketball.
