Ayo Dosunmu, a guard with the Chicago Bulls, was said to have signed a three-year contract with the organization last week. On Sunday, the organization officially announced the news.
According to earlier reports from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com, Dosunmu’s contract will cost $21 million. The deal was announced on Friday by NBC Sports Chicago Insider K.C. Johnson.
The Bulls’ decision to re-sign Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, and Dosunmu after they had all been granted restricted or unrestricted free agency during the summer is now complete with the signing of the new deal.
Dosunmu was selected by the Bulls in the 2nd round of the 2021 NBA Draft out of the University of Illinois, and in the 2022–23 season, he averaged 8.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest.
In a column explaining the reasoning behind the deal, Johnson predicted that Ayo Dosunmu might be the Bulls’ fifth guard on the roster, behind Zach LaVine, Alex Caruso, White, and Jevon Carter. Still, he lauded his determination and competitive spirit.
