Nerlens Noel, a free agent center, and the Kings have reached an agreement on a one-year, $3.1 million contract, his agent George Langberg of GSL Sports said on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Noel gives the Kings front-court depth alongside Domantas Sabonis and Alex Len as the 14th guaranteed contract on their roster.

Noel’s sixth NBA squad will be the Kings. Noel was selected sixth overall by the then-New Orleans Hornets in the 2013 draft. A few weeks later, he was moved to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a deal that brought Jrue Holiday to NOLA.

Nerlens Noel has since played for teams such as the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, and New York Knicks.

Last year, the 29-year-old Noel divided his time between Brooklyn and Detroit, playing in 17 games. In 11.5 minutes per game, he contributed 2.1 points and 2.7 rebounds on average.

Sacramento has finally found its man because Noel has been repeatedly connected to the Kings over the past few years.

The Kings allegedly expressed interest in Noel during the summer of 2021 if Richaun Holmes had left for free agency. The Kings’ chase of Noel ended when Holmes agreed to a contract extension.

Then, before trading for Noel to the Nets in February of last year, the Kings allegedly held trade negotiations with the Pistons.

Noel now joins De’Aaron Fox, Malik Monk, and Trey Lyles as the fourth former Kentucky Wildcat on the roster for the Kings.
