Big 12 and NFL To Host Special Conference-Wide Pro Day; Before 2024 NFL Draft

Before the 2024 NFL Draft, the Big 12 will collaborate with the NFL to host its conference-wide pro day the following year. The Dallas Cowboys’ training complex will be the event’s site in Frisco, Texas.

A particular event where NFL evaluators may watch the top players from a major college conference in one place, the Big 12 Pro Day is considered the first of its type.

The Ford Center is a 510,000-square-foot indoor sports complex housed in the Dallas Cowboys’ The Star property.

Instead of hosting pro days on their separate campuses, all 14 Big 12 teams competing in the 2023 college football season are slated to participate. On July 1, 2024, Texas and Oklahoma will leave the Big 12 for the SEC.

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark stated, “The first-of-its-kind Big 12 Pro Day will allow our student-athletes to showcase their talent and skill as they make their NFL dreams a reality.”

Big 12 student-athletes will be featured nationally in the media on NFL Network and NFL Media platforms thanks to this collaboration with the NFL.

We are overjoyed to work with the NFL to organize this pro day, and we look forward to giving our student-athletes a unique experience.

The league heavily advertises the Big 12 Pro Day across all its channels, and NFL Network will air it. The event will take place in a year but has yet to be given a date. In front of league officials, coaches, and scouts, players eligible for the NFL Draft can participate in combine-style workouts on pro days.

According to Troy Vincent, NFL executive vice president of football operations, the Big 12 will offer world-class exposure, mentorship, and development opportunities for prospective future players.

A Big 12 Fan Fest will take place in addition to the workouts, which will be off-limits to the general public. The conference, whose office is in Dallas, will also host a job fair that offers Big 12 athletes opportunities for networking and professional advancement.

The Big 12 and Pac-12 were tied for third place among conferences regarding the number of players selected in the 2018 draught with 25 each, trailing only the SEC and Big Ten. For the 16th straight year, the SEC was first place among all conferences.
