That’s the stuff of sports-related fantasies in early life. Brothers Both Bo and Josh Naylor are now established major league players. They are teammates as well. Bo has just joined the Cleveland Guardians as a rookie catcher. Josh has been playing first base for the same squad for five years.

Both of them hit home runs on Friday, and in the same inning! On Friday night, Bo got the scoring started against the Rangers when he hit a two-run home run in the third inning off of Texas starter Jon Gray.
His second career home run was a 435-foot bomb into the right-field seats.

Bo added to Cleveland’s lead with a two-run homer four batters later. This one, also off Gray, landed inside the right-field foul pole in the spectator section.
The Rangers went on to win 12-4, which was unfortunate for the Guardians.

The Naylor brothers’ historic home run-hitting performance in the same MLB inning was not dampened by the game’s final score. After the game, Bo talked to the media about how much it meant to him.

Bo remarked, “It’s really cool.” It’s probably something we’ve discussed or laughed about before. It’s crazy to imagine that this could actually happen.

“When I made mine, we shared a wonderful moment; his joy for me was palpable. And when he got to the top of his, I was already waiting for him there. It was a great opportunity to bond with him.
Only nine other instances of siblings hitting home runs in the same inning since 1900 occurred at that time.

In 2013, Justin and B.J. Upton accomplished this feat with the Atlanta Braves. What happened before? Similarly, the Upton bros., only weeks before.
Josh’s spot as the Guardians’ designated hitter is secure.

All in only one family….

Bo is a highly regarded young player who was selected in the first round in 2018. His first season in Major League Baseball has seen him as a regular starter. There’s a good possibility it won’t be another 13 years before baseball witnesses the feat again.
