Boston Bruins, Linus Ullmark Has Fantastic New Goalkeeper Mask
It honors Bobby Orr and Patrice Bergeron, who recently announced his retirement, two Bruins greats.
Linus Ullmark, the goaltender for the Boston Bruins, has a new goalie mask that is amazing as he enters the team’s centenary season.
Bergeron, who played for the Bruins for 19 seasons and amassed a Hall of Fame résumé that included an NHL record six Selke Trophy victories and a 2011 Stanley Cup victory, among other achievements, has a portion of the mask devoted to him.
An iconic picture of Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and Tyler Seguin following the former Boston Bruins captain’s overtime goal in Game 7 of the first-round series against the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2013 is displayed beneath a list of Bergeron‘s accomplishments.
Orr, whose work is regarded to be the best defenseman to ever play, is honored on the opposite half of the mask. In addition to helping the B’s win Stanley Cups in 1969–1970 and 1971–1972, Orr set a record by winning the Norris Trophy an unprecedented eight times.
A summary of Orr’s accomplishments are placed underneath the famous image of his soaring goal celebration from Game 4 of the 1970 Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins’ victory was sealed with the goal in overtime.
On Wednesday, October 11, the Bruins will welcome Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks to kick off the 2023–24 regular season at TD Garden.
