With $450,00 in guaranteed funding for the 2023–24 season, the contract has an NHL value of $800,000 and an AHL value of $350,000.
Before the trade deadline, Foote, 24, was traded from the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Nashville Predators, along with a few draft selections for Tanner Jeannot.
He recorded seven points (two goals, five assists) and a plus-minus of six in 50 games with the two teams last season. Foote spent an average of 15:07 on the ice each game and accrued 63 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound blue liner played an average of 13:02 minutes per game across 91 games in his first two seasons with Tampa after making his NHL debut in January 2021, scoring three goals and assisting on 12 occasions.
During Tampa Bay’s championship-winning campaign in his second season, Cal Foote played 13 playoff games, averaged 11:29 minutes on the ice, and registered two assists.
He was selected with the 14th overall choice in the 2017 NHL Draft. He is Adam Foote’s son and the sibling of Devils winger Nolan Foote.
