Canelo Alvarez Received Criticism Following His Most Recent Bout
One of the sports writers who has been the most critical about the career of Canelo Alvarez and his opponents is David Faitelson. According to him, these opponents haven’t been the greatest or haven’t asked the most of the boxer.
Currently, Faitelson fought against the Mexican in Canelo’s battle against American Jermell Charlo, which took place in Las Vegas. The Mexican still doesn’t persuade him in the slightest, and even less so in a fight when the Mexican is unable to knock Charlo out in the fight’s 12 rounds.
One of the statements Faitelson made following the conclusion of the bout was, “Canelo has won a fight from start to finish, but it has not been spectacular or devastating against a boxer who dedicated himself to defending himself and against whom he had a clear weight advantage.”
The ESPN writer believes that the American handed Canelo Alvarez too many benefits, which he did not fully use.
“Charlo has thrown a few punches and taken a few risks; I think the one we should demand more from is Canelo. The reality is that he completely dominates the fight, but he is not convincing.”
