Coco Gauff Lost Coach Who Helped Her Win U.S. Open
In past two moths, Coco Gauff won the US Open, the young American’s tennis was enhanced by her coach.
The fruitful partnership between Pere Riba and Coco Gauff has ended. The American tennis player, who won her opening match in the singles round robin last night, confirmed the rumor of a potential split that the Catalan coach had started. The coach is not in Cancun for the WTA Finals.
“I did not make the choice. Together, we had a terrific time, and I hope she has the greatest possible future. Though it’s the way things are, I would have wanted for him to be here. Pere is a wonderful man who assisted me with tennis as well as personal matters.” Brad Gilbert joined Coco Gauff in Mexico, and she said, “I’m sure he will be successful whoever he is with.”
Due to “personal family matters,” Riba terminated his association with the third rank of the WTA, citing his inability to travel frequently. Since all of the goals were achieved, I am really pleased with the job we have done together, and I have no doubt that Gauff will top the list the following year.”
The athlete began training with the esteemed Spanish coach at the start of the grass court season, at the Eastbourne event.
The cooperation quickly paid off as Coco signed an amazing American hard court tour, winning championships in Washington, Cincinnati, and the US Open in addition to reaching the quarterfinals in Montreal, all because to a tremendous adjustment in her forehand.
Gauff and Riba were last spotted together at the WTA 1000 in Beijing, when the American fell to Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals. There was a break in a run of sixteen straight victories.
