Damian Lillard Became Member Of LeBron, Harden, Curry’s Group
The point guard scored 40 points against the Spurs to bring his career total to 20,000.
Since the Milwaukee Bucks chose Damian Lillard to lead their championship run a few weeks ago, he has been performing at a caliber above anything they could have imagined.
As he grows more and more of a leader on the court, it appears like his integration into the squad is progressing at an incredibly rapid rate. He displayed his killing instinct against the Spurs, scoring 40 points, and earning a pass to two private clubs in the process.
To start, let’s look at how many NBA players have scored 20,000 points. ‘Dame’ has exceeded that number with his 40 at San Antonio, reaching the current 20,034.
That makes him the 51st person to reach 20,000 points, out of just eight current players. Currently ranked 17th in the fastest player to reach 794 career games played.
An enormous accomplishment
Damian Lillard remarked, “I don’t want to pretend to downplay it like it’s nothing, after his admission into the exclusive group. I am aware of how significant that is. That’s a fantastic achievement. Being in this space is unusual.”
LeBron James, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and DeMar DeRozan are the other seven active players who have attained that mark.
An outcome of the first club he joined is the second, which is a little more exclusive. His accomplishments of 20,000 career points, 5,000 career assists, and 2,000 career three-pointers made place him among the select few players in NBA history.
