As soon as pre-orders go live, fans will be lining up to get their hands on the pair.
Though it’s not quite ended, football career of Messi is already and has been for a while now the stuff of legends. The last piece of the puzzle needed for him to be able to truly say he did it all was victory with Argentina at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Although Lionel Messi memorabilia has always been available since he first became popular in his early 20s, there have been some amazing pieces on display in recent years. We may have the greatest of them all right now.
With every place that Messi has visited, his career has been replete with records, honors, and legacies. All of that might seem difficult to fit into a pair of shoes, yet stepwise managed to do just that.
“What the Messi” is the nickname given to the Nike SB Dunk Low colorway by the Buenos Aires-born, Oakland-based custom shoe designer? Every corner and hole, hue, and texture on the shoe tells a tale.
Stepwise revealed that he took inspiration for the sneaker from a number of Messi shirts that he has worn during his remarkable career. Including the Newell’s Old Boys vintage shirt he donned at his Diego Maradona homage, FC Barcelona, PSG, Inter Miami, and more.
Using the same away outfit that Messi wore in his first World Cup final (2014), he even managed to overcome Germany. Naturally, it would be impossible to overlook the 2022 World Cup home uniform. To be exact, the left insole of the shoe has Messi’s current Inter Miami colors and jersey number, while the right insole has the patch that reads “FIFA World Champions 2022”.
According to reports, StepKicks will soon be offering the sneakers for pre-order. To find out when they release, follow them on Instagram or Twitter.
