Francis Ngannou:”I’m going to be one taking his soul”
Before his fight with Anthony Joshua on the boxing ring, Francis Ngannou sent out a disturbing warning. “I’m going to be one taking his soul”
March 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a 10-round bout between former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou (0-1) and former heavyweight boxing champion Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs). In December of 2023, Joshua defeated Otto Wallin via TKO in the fifth round, capping an impressive 3-0 record. Ngannou has malicious motives when he enters the battle.
“You do realize that nothing is impossible?” Ngannou stated on the “High Performance” podcast, “We are unaware of Anthony Joshua’s strength, but despite the fact I don’t think he has that kind of power, we’re going to find out. We’re going to find out, and my prediction is that the opposite will occur. I will be the one to take his soul.”
When Francis Ngannou unexpectedly defeated WBC champion Tyson Fury in a close split decision loss during his boxing debut in October of last year, he made an impression. Even though Ngannou didn’t receive the victory from the judges, he still felt like the winner.
Ngannou declared, “That’s me. Here I am, this is my life, and this is where I was when you thought I was lost. You believe that anything in my life will change just because some petty judges make a decision? Sitting in the front row, watching that fight, was my family, who I was telling you about.”
“That night, I was experiencing the fantasy I’d been living since I was a child—a dream I was always dreaming of. Yes, I was present. I was there to disprove everyone’s doubts about me, for all of them. I was there to prove everyone who had thought less of me incorrect. Everything was mine to win.”
