George Russell Promises To Attend 2023 Japanese Grand Prix
After a challenging 2022 campaign, Lewis Hamilton has been overwhelmingly outperforming George Russell this season.
In particular, if he ever finds himself competing for the World Championship, George Russell has vowed never to repeat the error that cost him the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend.
Russell crashed wildly on the penultimate lap while vying with Lando Norris for second place at the Marina Bay Circuit after finishing among the podium spots the whole race.
At the entrance to Turn 10, the Mercedes driver struck a wall and was eliminated from the race after crashing into a barrier.
George Russell made a mistake, which allowed Lewis Hamilton to move up to third and earn his 196th podium finish overall.
The fact that the Marina Bay Circuit is one of the toughest competitions on the calendar didn’t help Russell, who was obviously upset and on the edge of tears after Singapore.
Given that he was much quicker than Carlos Sainz in the lead, the King’s Lynn-born driver would have won had he passed Norris for P2 throughout the course of the Singapore weekend.
He’ll need to dust himself off and return to work this weekend in Suzuka, where he will try to recover.
He’s confident he will avoid making the same mistake again over his misstep in Singapore.
