Gervonta Davis & Floyd Mayweather's Feud Getting More Intense

The burgeoning animosity between Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken on a new chapter as “Tank” Davis uses social media to vent his frustrations over Mayweather’s legal issues in Dubai.

An official statement from Mayweather‘s camp has not yet been released. However, foreign media reported that the former world champion was held by Dubai officials on an undisclosed accusation.

Rick Glase, a Boxing Hall of Fame elector, later verified the news on his X account, which was formerly Twitter. He stated,

“I just spoke with my friend in Dubai, and he informed me that Floyd Mayweather is undoubtedly being detained by the government court system there because he owes a significant sum of money there.”

Supporters of the former welterweight champion were quick to cast doubt on “Tank’s” statements in the absence of any news from Mayweather personally. The fighter, however, shot back right after, saying, “He needs to give that money back to the people who asked for it… if I’m lying, tell him to go live now.”

The latest blow from Gervonta Davis

Not content to let the matter rest, Davis recently shared a screenshot of a website named Gossip of The City on his Instagram Stories. It says in the picture that “Government officials in Dubai are holding Floyd.” “In order to be able to go back home, he is attempting to sort things out with them.”

“He (Mayweather) tried to leave today… they said ‘Nope, sit still before I f*ck you up,'” Davis wrote as the picture’s caption, typical of him.

In a follow-up, “Tank” posted a scene from the film “Above the Rim,” including a rather direct message for the previous champion: “You ain’t no the mother f*cking man no more. You should come to me.”

Despite the intermittent nature of social media communications, Mayweather made the effort to reply to Davis. “Money” shared a video of “Tank” dancing on social media following the initial disclosures from his former protégé.

With a reference to Davis’ gay orientation, the former boxer captioned the video, saying, “We always knew he had sugar in his Tank.”

Time will tell if Mayweather’s detention in Dubai was really justified or not, given the ongoing rivalry between the two combatants.
