It Makes “a lot of sense” For Derrick Rose To Return To The Chicago Bulls

After the current campaign, Arturas Karnisovas showed he was not interested in starting again with the Chicago Bulls. He has no intention of resetting the roster. Even though the Bulls’ current core of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic doesn’t scream “championship contender,” they are committed to making it work.

Chicago has to undergo significant change if that is the plan. They participated in the play-in tournament last year but lost, and their roster has some significant weaknesses.

They must strengthen their front and center positions, but they also need assistance at point guard, especially now that Lonzo Ball is injured. When talking about the New York Knicks‘ summer, Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype brought up a well-known name as a potential Chicago target in free agency.

According to Scotto, the Knicks are expected to reject Derrick Rose‘s $15.6 million club option this summer. If so, the Bulls would be a good destination for the seasoned point guard.

“When I was in Chicago for the NBA Draft Combine, some executives were wondering how much gas he still has in the tank.”

“He’s got a huge number looking ahead towards next season, a team option for $15.6 million. That’s a lot of money for a guy who rarely used it. You’d imagine the Knicks would decline that option. In my opinion, I think the Chicago Bulls make a ton of sense for Derrick Rose in free agency. It would be a nice homecoming for him towards the end of his career. We saw when he was back in town how beloved he is still by that fan base.”

The Bulls could use a veteran to guide Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White, and they also need some depth at point guard.
