Jason Kelce Listens To Shaq O'Neal's Warning About His Retirement Blunders

Though O’Neal warned Jason Kelce about the risks of having extra time, the Philadelphia Eagles center is considering retiring.

After a stellar NBA career with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat, O’Neal has cautioned Kelce about the dangers of having more free time after retirement.

Although many believe that Kelce’s 2023 season will be his final in the NFL, he hasn’t decided whether or not to retire. Shaq recently urged Jason Kelce on “The Big Podcast with Shaq” that if he were to retire, he should accept it and enjoy his family.

“I was left alone and without my family as a result of numerous careless decisions that I made. You should never think back on what we had because it isn’t the case for you. Instead, enjoy your lovely wife and your adorable children.”

“We received what we were given. Everyone knows who you are, and you have the ring. I’ve talked about it for a long time, so enjoy—because once more, I was a fool. My entire family died. My residence is 100,000 square feet and I live alone.”

How might Shaquille O’Neal have ended up by himself?

The four kids he has with Shaunie—sons Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Me’arah—are all boys. The Basketball Hall of Famer has acknowledged that he was not the “best partner” for her.

In 2007, O’Neal filed for divorce from Shaunie Nelson; however, the divorce was canceled in less than a year. After that, in 2009, Shaunie filed for separation, and in 2011, their divorce was formally approved, ending their marriage.

In addition, Shaq laments his actions with both Arnetta Yardbourgh and Taahirah, the girls he dated just before getting married to Nelson.

Shaq remarked, “I messed up. I had two perfect women.” in June on Monica’s “MoTalk Radio.”

“I met Shaunie after I lost my first one, who was my baby mother Arnetta. I screwed up Shaunie, who was also a flawless woman. Indeed, as youngsters, we were prone to making foolish decisions all the time. However, the positive aspect of our relationship is that they have forgiven me and we are now on good terms. However, if you’re asking me about the ideal woman, I had two, and I ruined it by, well, being a moron.”
