Julie Ertz Signs Contract With Angel City; A Year Before World Cup

The National Women’s Soccer League will once again welcome Julie Ertz.
The team said the midfielder for the USWNT and two-time Player of the Year had signed a one-year contract with Angel City F.C. on Monday.
It is the most recent stage in Ertz’s return to professional football following the birth of her child in August.

The Chicago Red Stars, who took Ertz with the third overall choice in 2014, were where she last competed in the NWSL.

Angel City F.C. is one of the newest clubs in the NWSL. The group entered the league in 2022 with San Diego Wave F.C. Northern California and Utah were added to the list of expansion goals for the organization in 2024, increasing the overall total of clubs to 14.
After a 2-2 tie on Saturday with Racing Louisville FC, Angel City is now 1-1-1 for the year. On Wednesday, they will compete against the O.L. Reign.
