Lamar Jackson Enlists LeBron James & Ja Morant To Advance His MVP Quest
Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is the MVP, and Ja Morant is not the only one who believes this. The 27-year-old deserves to be acknowledged as the best quarterback in the NFL.
After the quarterback trounced the Houston Texans in a 34-10 AFC Divisional round, passing for two touchdowns and rushing for two more, LeBron James took to X, previously Twitter, to further support the cause.
Morant just stated what many people are thinking when he put “MVP” on the Elon Musk-owned platform. James, though, reacted with a little more vigor, writing, “Man I LOVE Lamar Jackson!!!!!”
James’s football background
James has a long history of supporting American football, and he has an understanding of what it takes to succeed given his eight MVP awards during his career (four from the NBA Finals and four from the regular season), which depending on who you ask, he holds the record for most of all time.
The legendary member of the Los Angeles Lakers demonstrated his versatility by participating in high school football before deciding to focus on basketball. Despite being six feet eight inches tall and weighing 232 pounds, he played wide receiver and tight end for St. Vincent St. Mary’s there.
Over two seasons, he caught 23 touchdowns and averaged 20 yards per reception. He gained 905 yards and seven touchdowns in his second campaign. He had 16 touchdowns, 1160 yards, and 57 receptions in his junior year.
In a parallel universe, perhaps, he became an NFL icon rather than being honored as Mr. Ohio, the title given to the state’s top high school football player. He was also an All-state selection in both seasons.
Due to a wrist injury he had during his final year of football, he was forced to give up the sport and focus entirely on basketball, where he is currently a four-time NBA champion.
