Lewis Hamilton Discussed His Intentions To Leave Formula 1

He won't come back after he bids you farewell.

Mercedes revealed extension of Lewis Hamilton until the end of 2025 during the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

By this agreement, the British driver will be able to compete in Formula 1 after turning 40.

The seven-time world champion has discussed his preparations for retirement, even if it does not appear that this will be his final Formula 1 deal.

When Sebastian Vettel retired last year, he made light of the fact that successful Formula 1 drivers “always come back,” citing Fernando Alonso as the most notable instance.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has been gone from the tracks for the first few months, but beyond that point, rumors of his return have started to circulate, and the former driver himself has not ruled out the prospect of making a comeback.

Plans of Lewis Hamilton

But Hamilton doesn’t appear to have any intentions to return, at least not anytime soon. The driver is convinced there would be no going back if he decides to sever ties with Formula 1.

In an interview with Blick, the seven-time world champion remarked.

“That won’t happen to me.” “When the chapter ends, that’s when it ends. I can’t imagine standing in the paddock or in the garage without getting into a car.”

Hamilton on his chances of winning an eighth F1 title

Hamilton’s career may naturally come to an end with an eighth championship. Michael Schumacher, with whom he now shares the record, would lose that position if he were to surpass that milestone, making him the most successful driver in the competition’s history.

“I never said the eighth title would be a stopping sign for me, but I’ll only know when I get there. You can hardly achieve the big goals in Formula 1 without a great car. Nobody can.”

It is challenging to win an eighth championship since it depends on him and the car he is now driving.

Achieving that milestone also seems like an idyllic concept because of Red Bull‘s present domination, which is unknown as to when it may stop, but you never know.

Hamilton continues to give his full attention to racing overall. The seven-time world champion has admitted that he would like to have kids, but it appears that this is still something he plans to do in the future.

Hamilton will have to wait before considering having children. About having children, he remarked.

“Not at the moment, I don’t have time for that. I enjoy being an uncle! I have not yet decided to take that big step. I still have goals with the race car and everything has to be put on the back burner. I want to do my job 100 percent. Of course, you have to find the necessary balance with your private life and make concessions. But, thankfully that day hasn’t come yet.”
