Lionel Messi Debuts His Acting In An Argentine Series About Football Players' Agents

Lionel Messi made his screen debut in the Argentinian streaming TV series “Los Protectores,” in which he portrays himself versus a trio of football players’ reps.

The appearance occurs in the second season of the comedy series from Star Original Productions, which stars Adrian Suar, Gustavo Bermudez, and Andres Parra, who portray three agents for football players.

Lionel Messi participates in a funny five-minute scene where he meets with the three agents to discuss a project to help young players playing for various European clubs. The conversation quickly degenerates into requests for photos and videos and a proposal for a business deal, which results in a vigorous swap of looks around.

The seven-episode series debuted on streaming provider Star+ last Sunday, ultimately bringing some lightness to the atmosphere with a toast between Messi and the reps.

The new season, filmed on location in Buenos Aires and Paris, is full of humorous surprises as the three main protagonists negotiate the world of football representation and expose the power dynamics and rivalry that are part and parcel of it.

The second season begins one year after “Los Protectores S.A.” was founded. The three partners are proud of having established the business as one of the most significant in Latin America and Europe for football representation, but they unintentionally lose their player portfolio. As a result, they will do whatever it takes to get back what is rightfully theirs.

The charming trio of footballers’ representatives, Mago (Suar), Reynaldo (Parra), and Conde (Bermudez), as well as fantastic guests and new characters, are the focus of the new show, which was written by Marcos Carnevale, directed by Jorge Nisco, and produced by Polka. Martin Seefeld, Jorgelina Aruzzi, Gaston Soffritti, and Karina Mazzocco also star.
