Manny Pacquiao Will Face Josh Taylor After Olympics
Promoter Bob Arum predicts that Pac-Man will make a comeback to the ring and puts him up against Josh Taylor.
Although several alternatives for future of Manny Pacquiao exist, he has not yet disclosed his plans.
His goal is to compete as an Olympian in the Paris 2024 Games, but there are a number of challenges in his way, starting with the competition’s 40-year-old boxer age limit.
In order to get an exemption for their boxer, the Philippine Olympic Committee (COP) submitted a “special request” in October. He would have to win one of two qualifying events in Italy or Thailand the following year in order to secure his spot in Paris, considering it were given.
However, Amir Khan desires a rematch with his previous training partner in Saudi Arabia or Abu Dhabi.
Amir Khan stated during an IFLTV interview, “Interest exists, and Manny’s group desires it. It would be enormous. It would undoubtedly motivate me to fight Manny.”
Both fighters would be returning to the professional ranks with this battle.
Regarding his future, what did Manny Pacquiao’s previous promoter say?
Bob Arum, the old eight-division champion’s promoter, has provided the most recent hints on Pac-Man’s future.
The CEO of Top Rank was worried in 2019 that Manny might sustain “brain damage” if he kept fighting, but now he even believes there’s a potential he may rejoin the organization.
Arum stated to Pro Box TV, ” I’d like to acquire Pacquiao for [Josh] Taylor.” “I believe the battle would be exciting. Perhaps they could perform at 147 pounds, or even a bantamweight. I believe that Pacquiao would be keen to compete in that match. He is a big spender, and he blew a lot of cash on his presidential run. Though Pacquiao is a wealthy man, Manny intends to give his profession at least a year or two more. Everyone returns because they can afford to.”
