When asked if he would compare himself to the event’s world record holder, Mbappe complimented the former sprinter as well. “It truly makes me happy to know that I am an inspiration to someone like that. He was an inspiration to all of us. Additionally, I believe that everyone watched Usain Bolt run late into the night. I can affirm that it’s mutual because I began to look up to him before he did.”

The Frenchman was frank about the fictitious duel, chuckling, “I don’t think I have much of a choice. For pleasure, though, that would be good. If we both have time, why not do something pleasant together one day?”
