Malachi Wideman of Jackson State and Milton Wright of Purdue were long shots to be selected as wide receivers. Wright missed the 2022 season at Purdue due to academic ineligibility, while Wideman transferred from Tennessee to Jackson State.
Wide receiver Cris Carter, quarterback Bernie Kosar, and linebacker Brian Bosworth are among the most well-known supplementary round selections. Kosar was selected by the Cleveland Browns, Seattle, and Bosworth, all with first-round picks.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Carter in the fourth round, and he is the first supplementary selection to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Since 2019, there has yet to be a player chosen in the NFL Supplemental Draft.
