Chris Gutierrez carries an assessment for long, where he misses the attention of whom he wants. Admirably good person, he is, who does not agitate much but exhibits his expressions in a mild and sober way.

“I think I have been ignored in my life span”, said Gutierrez.

Chris Gutierrez wishes that he should be respected more despite defeating Frankie Edgar in his latest bout. Gutierrez still feels he is being ignored.

Even after Gutierrez (19-3-2 MMA, 7-1-1 UFC) would face off against top-ranked contender Pedro Monjoz (19-7 MMA, 9-7 UFC) on the ESPN 44 main card on Saturday.

He though gained respect after a UFC fight.

Gutierrez is undefeated in his past eight fights, winning back-to-back landslide conquests at UFC 281 against Dana Battagrel and former UFC lightweight champion Edgar.

His feeling is a long drawn and runs from not too soon.

“I think I’ve been ignored in a lot of situations in my entire life span,” Gutierrez told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s media talk.

“I think when we lead up to that fight, obviously the focus should be on him (Edgar). He’s a Hall of Famer; he’s the guy who puts in the time. But like I said, I stayed away from the radar. I did everything, I was supposed (meant) to do and it all led up to this night.”

His expressions were so pure and naïve that one could not believe his feelings kept him so low, though he is not that below or down in people’s or media’s eyes.

He maintained, “I don’t think I get the respect I deserve, but that’s been my whole life. I’ve been ignored my whole life. I don’t really get the respect I deserve or most importantly deserve, but it’s It doesn’t matter.

Gutierrez will face long-lasting contender Munhoz, who has carried extensive experience including the fights with bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and previous titleholders Jose Aldo and Dominick Cruz.

“He’s a solid opponent,” Gutierrez said of Munhoz. “He was there and you saw what he could do. He brought an unbelievable skill set, so at the end of the day, we would going to go head-to-head with great players here.”
