After his victory over Alexei Popyrin at the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic got into an altercation with a spectator. He continues to face criticism for his anti-vaccine position against Covid-19, and this time it comes from a fan who confronted the tennis star and appeared to be intoxicated.
“Come here and tell me straight to my face if you have the courage to say to me this from the stands.”
To seize control of the match and win, Novak Djokovic won three straight games. The world number one went to face the crowd and clenched his fist in celebration after signaling the victory following a blunder by Popyrin.
Tomas Etcheverry of Argentina will be Djokovic’s next opponent.
