Taylor Swift donated $100K To Family Of Lisa Lopez-Galvan

Already, over $200K has been raised.

The family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the victim of the mass shooting that occurred at the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Super Bowl triumph parade on Wednesday, has established a GoFundMe page, to which Taylor Swift has donated $100,000.

“In light of your tragic loss, please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences.” The singer’s message on the contribution page said, “With love, Taylor Swift.”

Variety received confirmation from representatives that Swift is the true source of the donation.

Raising $75,000 for the family of Lopez-Galvan, a 44-year-old mother of two who works as a DJ at a local radio station, was the aim of the GoFundMe. One day after the page was created, on Friday morning, the total amount raised with over 2,000 donations had topped $200,000.

This is taken from the “Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan Memorial” page:

To so many, she was an incredible wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. As we grieve the loss of her life, we ask that you keep her family in your prayers. Her family will benefit greatly from this fund as they deal with this unimaginable tragedy and struggle to make ends meet. We appreciate any amount.

Minutes after the conclusion of the Chiefs’ parade on Wednesday afternoon, twenty-three persons were shot. Three people were taken into custody in the moments following the incident, according to Kansas City police. However, one of the individuals was later released from custody after it was established that they were not involved.

As of Thursday night, neither of the two persons remaining under police custody had been given a criminal charge. They are both minors.

Should someone not be charged with a crime or have a warrant out for their arrest, Missouri law mandates that they be released from custody within twenty-four hours. Because both suspects are minors, a judge’s order is required before they can be detained for more than 24 hours.

After recovering from his injuries at a nearby hospital, Lopez-Galvan’s kid was also hurt in the shooting.

Asserting the guilt, county prosecutor Jean Peters Baker vowed to use all of her resources on Thursday morning.

According to the continuing investigation, a “dispute between several people” was the cause of the shooting, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves stated on Thursday. Numerous firearms were found at the location.

Graves reports that half of the 22 injured individuals were younger than 16 years old, while the gunshot victims ranged in age from 8 to 47.
