Despite turning down a sizable offer to continue at Selhurst Park, Zaha has played 458 times in two stints at the South London club, scoring 89 goals. Although Palace had been sure that it would be able to keep Zaha, there is now rising optimism in Turkey that they will be the ones to sign the 30-year-old.

A Galatasaray statement said,

“Formal negotiations have been initiated with professional footballer Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha regarding the transfer of the footballer to our club.”

Zaha, who received two caps for the Three Lions before deciding to transfer allegiance to the Ivory Coast, would conclude a 13-year tenure in English football with the move.

Wilfried Zaha went to Croydon as a kid after being born in the nation’s capital, Abidjan, and progressed through the Palace youth divisions.

In January 2013, he was one of Sir Alex Ferguson‘s final acquisitions, although he did not play for Ferguson since he was promptly loaned back to Palace for the 2012–13 campaign balance.

However, Zaha struggled to fit in at Old Trafford, where he arrived during David Moyes’ disastrous reign. Only 18 months after his move, Zaha returned to the Palace.

He was rumored to be moving to Tottenham and Arsenal but has since emerged as one of the most reliable attackers in the English Premier League.

Zaha was a player that Palace wanted to keep, so they made a sizable offer to the team. Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian team that acquired Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, is also said to have made him an incredible £30 million-per-year offer.

Following Galatasaray’s assured public statement, Zaha will continue his career in Turkey. Zaha reportedly turned down the offer and was eager to stay in Europe.
