10 Observations: Bruins Defeated Blackhawks In Shutout To Maintain Perfect Record

The Boston Bruins defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 at the United Centre on Tuesday after the Blackhawks gave up two goals in the third period.

10 takeaways from the loss are as follows:

1. The hockey game was not particularly enjoyable. Poor power plays by both teams, low scoring, and few thrilling moments. The Blackhawks collapsed for the second time in three games.

2. Though Connor Bedard‘s goal was disallowed after Boston successfully challenged him offside, the Blackhawks believed they had opened the score in the first period. Even though it appeared to be the right decision, it was quite close, and one could say it was confusing. It also would have been a power-play goal. However, the celly remained chilly.

3. By preventing Bedard from returning to the Chicago bench during the first meeting, Brad Marchand struggled to get under Bedard’s skin. Unsurprisingly, he performed similarly in this contest. Marchand does this task. I like how Bedard grinned.

4. When Petr Mrazek first entered the game, he was quite active. After two quarters, he faced thirty shots, and Pavel Zacha‘s amazing redirection led to the lone goal he gave up. He is unable to change that. His share was fulfilled.

5. Taylor Hall was sidelined due to a recurrence of a shoulder ailment he first sustained against Boston in the season’s second game. Week-to-week status indicates that he is projected to miss at least a few games. He is not allowed to return until the October 30 game against Arizona since the team placed him on injured reserve retroactively to October 21 a significant temporary loss.

6. There were no consequences for Brandon Carlo, who whacked Hall on the blindside on October 11 and caused injury. From the first encounter, nothing was carried over. That startled me a little.

7. The Blackhawks switched up Bedard’s linemates since Hall was hurt. His wingmen were Tyler Johnson and Nick Foligno. I’m not sure how long those three will survive together, but they worked well together.

8. After missing the first six games due to a left wrist injury, Philipp Kurashev made his debut. Together with Corey Perry and Jason Dickinson, he skated on the third line and saw some penalty kill duty. Next game, I liked the idea of shifting to the second line so that Bedard could play alongside Andreas Athanasiou.

9. The Colorado squad, currently 6-0-0, had not lost a game played by the Blackhawks last week. Vegas became the first reigning Stanley Cup champion team to begin a season with a 6-0-0 record when they defeated them on Saturday. A 6-0-0 Bruins club defeated the Blackhawks on Tuesday. Additionally, they play the Golden Knights once again on Friday. Such a cruel timetable, it seems.

10. When Bruins forward Jakub Lauko took a skate to the face in the third period, it was a dangerous scenario. He was bleeding heavily and had quickly made his way to the bench. Hopefully, it isn’t as bad as it appears.
