Aday Mara Is Already Allowed To Appear In UCLA Debut
Aday Mara has already received permission to play for UCLA versus Saint Francis on Monday in the opening game of the regular season. The 18-year-old Spanish center, who stands at 2.22 meters, was initially supposed to make his official debut against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Tuesday. But he had not finalized his departure from Casademont Zaragoza. Nevertheless, the NCAA has finally granted him permission to play.
Head coach of the Bruins Mick Cronin, who will have one of his most valuable bolsters coming into the season, said that UCLA Athletics, Aday Mara, and his family would like to thank the NCAA, his attorney Stu Brown, and UCLA senior associate athletic director Erin Adkins for their work and cooperation during this process.
The University of California, Los Angeles, where Kevin Love, Bill Walton, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all attended, will allow the Mano player to don their jersey.
He still needs to settle the lawsuit from Casademont Zaragoza, his previous team, who accused him of breaking a contract. The center made it known that he would not be honoring his agreement to pay the club’s termination clause when he left for the United States.
Because of his low pay and lack of a professional contract, Mara’s departure clause of more than 600,000 euros was not satisfied.
The young athlete is hanging to this since, starting in July 2021, university students will be able to obtain a wage at UCLA that is comparable to this. NILs, which stand for name, image, and likeness, are the term used to describe them.
As one of the 20 candidates for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, which is given to the greatest center in the NCAA, Aday Mara holds high hopes. He has not even made his college debut, and he is already drafted in the first round of the NBA draft the following year.
