According to several sources, Doug Marrone was let go by the Saints on Saturday after serving as their offensive line coach for two years.

As he tries to restructure the Saints‘ offense, offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, the coordinator of the 49ers passing game, is expected to be hired by the Saints. He will probably bring along a few of his own assistants.

2013 and 2014 saw Doug Marrone lead the Bills, and 2017–2020 saw him lead the Jaguars. In addition, he has lengthy experience as an assistant coach, having served as the head coach of Syracuse and the Saints twice.

With three consecutive seasons without making the playoffs, the Saints are forever tied to quarterback Derek Carr at $30 million guaranteed. Head coach Dennis Allen is hoping a new offensive plan would bring out more in Carr.
