Jayson Tatum Regret for Not Wrapping Up The Celtics-Hawks Series in Time for Janet Jackson’s Concert
On Thursday, the Boston Celtics eliminated the Atlanta Hawks from the NBA playoffs; nevertheless, the performance featuring Janet Jackson was not spared.
The Grammy Award-winning pop diva had to postpone a performance initially set for Thursday in State Farm Arena due to the Hawks forcing a Game 6 in their first-round series at home in Atlanta. The “Together Again” concert will now take place on Friday.
Although there are risks involved in scheduling a concert in an NBA arena during the postseason, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics still apologized to Jackson in front of the public.
“I wanna send an apology to the legend Janet Jackson. We were supposed to close it out in Boston. She had to postpone her show. I hope she sees this, you know, I apologize for that. But we got it done today.”

In defense of the Jackson camp, the 41-41 Hawks were a long shot for the playoffs for most of this season and only qualified with a victory in the play-in competition. When they added the stop to her tour in December, assuming the arena would be free was reasonable.
Fans who could not reschedule will have their tickets refunded, and all tickets for the concert that was supposed to take place on Thursday will be honored on Friday.
In Game 6, Tatum scored 30 points on 11 of 20 shooting, added 14 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks, and didn’t leave much room for speculation. Two of the points and one of those rebounds are listed below:
