Josh Giddey Played Against Philadelphia 76ers, Fans Are Furious
His suspected relationship with a juvenile is the subject of an investigation.
NBA fans are not happy that Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder is playing on Saturday in the midst of investigations into claims he had a relationship with a minor.
The Thunder have let Giddey, 21, to play against the Philadelphia 76ers without disciplining him, even though the NBA is investigating the situation.
“As far as basketball is concerned, he’s ready to play and will play. We have come to that conclusion based only on the information available to us at this time. To be honest with you, it’s not even really a decision. The initiative is now clearly with the league since it’s a league issue.” Coach Mark Daigneault made no other comments at this time.

Fan discussions relating this incident to recent NBA investigations may be seen on social media, especially Instagram.
A user wrote, “Whoa. Until the inquiry is over, they ought to bench him.”
The following comment was made by another user: “Giddey f***d a minor and is playing today; Kyrie posted a movie that’s STILL available on Amazon and nearly ruined his career. **** off for sure.”
With the use of internet images and videos, the league is looking into allegations that Giddey dated a minor. During Friday’s practice, neither Giddey nor Thunder coach Daigneault addressed the accusations.
Giddey informed reporters, “I obviously understand the question, but there’s no more to say at this time. I know you guys are curious, and I appreciate that, but as of right now, I have nothing to say.”
