Justin Fields Threads Needle In Amazing Video From Off-Season
In preparation for the 2024 NFL season, Justin Fields is being obedient. Increasing his precision seems to be a component of that preparation.
In a recent, striking social media video, he demonstrated some of those advancements.
Fields’ two biggest shortcomings, according to some, were his inability to hang onto the ball and comprehend reads. But that equation also included precision.
Justin Fields has a 60.3% lifetime completion percentage after three seasons in the NFL. In his first year, he completed 58.9% of his passes; in his second year, he completed 60.4%; and in his last season, he completed 61.4%. Though there has been some progress, those are still extremely low figures.
With 61.4% of passes completed, he ended 30th in the NFL last season and 32nd in 2022. Had he been eligible for rankings in 2021, he would have placed 44th overall among quarterbacks. His rigorous work on ball placement is justified because those aren’t marks that can be sustained in the NFL.
To put up numbers in the stat sheet the following season, though, he will have to battle. Russell Wilson‘s backup in Pittsburgh the next season is expected to be him. But others think that at some time throughout the season, Fields, on a one-year contract, will pass the seasoned quarterback.
