Patrick Kane Scores Detroit Red Wings' Opening Goal

On Friday night, in his second game with the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Kane scored his first goal shortly thereafter.

Who did you think helped with it? Of course, his old Blackhawks line mate, Alex DeBrincat.

On November 28, Kane, 35, finally made his long-awaited free agency choice by signing with the Red Wings. He inked a $2.75 million, one-year extended contract.

On June 1, Patrick Kane had hip resurfacing surgery and was given a four- to six-month recovery period. It was expected of him to choose American Thanksgiving, which he accomplished.

The Blackhawks and Red Wings game on February 25 will mark his return to the United Centre. Also, that evening, Chris Chelios’ jersey will be retired by the Blackhawks.
