WWE Grants Late Bray Wyatt Legend Contract To Support His Family

Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Lawrence Rotunda, was an American wrestler who passed away on August 24 at the age of 36 from a heart attack that happened while he was slept at his Clermont, Florida, home.

Rotunda contracted COVID-19 in March of this year, which prevented him from competing for many months and resulted in cardiac issues, according to TMZ Sports.

Furthermore, the gladiator was reportedly receiving medical attention for this ailment. His doctor had sent him an external cardiac defibrillator, but he did not use it that fateful evening while he slept.

WWE and Bray Wyatt

Professional wrestler Wyatt was known to fans mostly for his tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he experienced two of his greatest periods of success. Wyatt worked for WWE from 2009 to 2023.

WWE notified Bray’s family that all proceeds from the sale of the wrestler’s goods will go to them following the terrible news.

The WWE provided support to Bray’s father, Mike Rotunda, who recently thanked the company during an interview with Wrasslin Talk:

“WWE deserves recognition, I must say. In so many ways, they have been an incredible support to our family. So they signed Windham to a Legends deal, with the family receiving all revenues. Fortunately, this will be Windham’s family of four children.”

Additionally, Mr. Rotunda mentioned that in order to go on with this job, the top wrestling organization in the world would be producing more Wyatt items in the future:

“They have a line of collectibles and t-shirts available, and I believe they are working on more. Although I’m not sure of all that’s been released and what they’re doing, fans may search for him at the WWE Store. That will benefit their children much. Our goal is to establish trusts that will remain in their names. We sincerely appreciate the job they have done, and WWE has been extremely kind in supporting our family.”

Milestone for WWE

During his tenure in the WWE, Bray Wyatt held the titles of champion for the following:

  • WWE Championship
  • WWE Universal Championship (twice)
  • RAW Tag Team Championship (with Matt Hardy)
  • Smackdown Tag Team Championship (with Randy Orton and Luke Harper)
